Condition
Colours:
The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant in the original. The colours in the central cube of the lower section tend more towards bright grass green to the left side, rich peach to the top, and sky blue to the right in the original.
Condition:
The work is in very good condition. There is a very minor indentation under the canvas to the upper left corner, possibly a result of a slightly uneven stretcher bar beneath. Upon close examination, there are a number of intermittent extremely fine and stable vertical hairline tension cracks to the extreme left and right overturn edges. There is an extremely light vertical rubmark to the lower left corner, a minute pinprick-sized fly spot to the pale blue pigment to the left of the central cube in the upper section and minor canvas wear to the lower right extreme corner (all visible upon close inspection only). No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.
