Condition
Colours:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly softer in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There are two short horizontal cracks to the upper centre of the left hand slit and a few further tiny nicks to the edges of both slits. Upon close inspection there are a few extremely fine hairline surface cracks and a tiny spot of lifting to the top right of the left slit. Some superficial light fibres of surface dust are adhering in places to the plate surface and in raking light there are a few extremely fine and unobtrusive surface scratches. There are a number of surface irregularities to the upper section of the work, including a few scattered places to the top right where there has been some infilling to spots of previous cracking and flaking. This infilling fluoresces slightly under ultraviolet light.
