Catalogue Note

Contrary to Chiparus' repertoire of iconic dancers, Danseuse Moderne is more reminescent of a fashion plate in her pose and costume.  Her tiered skirt and bathing cap have been altered from contemporary sources to evoke the spirit of a bona-fide "flapper" of the period.
