the globular body rising from a short spreading foot to a tall waisted neck, finely carved around the exterior with a broad band of undulating leafy peony scroll, above a lotus-lappet band at the base and below a ruyi-head collar and peony scroll band at the shoulder, the neck with a stiff plantain leaf band below ruyi-head and foaming wave bands at the rim, covered overall in an even pale aubergine glaze
