  • A South Caucasian long rug
  • approximately 10ft. 3in. by 4ft. 5in. (3.12 by 1.35m.)

Condition

Color slightly warmer in reality. Pile ranges from areas with good 1/8 inch down to knotheads due to foldwear and oxidation to the browns; some oxidized areas low to foundation with a few small (1 x 1 inch) holes with warp strings and scattered repiling to browns. A 4 x 2 inch patch from another rug in the field; 2 inch slit in dark blue medallion; 12" band at one end of field with stains, discolorations, repaired slits and moth damage. Abrash at one end where reds become very pale, almost beige. Original polychrome wool selvages wtih fraying and losses into guard stripes. Minor losses to end barberpole guard stripes. Supple handle, lustrous wool.
