Pile ranges from good near original 1/6 inch with areas of foldwear low to knotheads and some to foundation; dark browns also oxidized to knotheads and foundation in spots. Lower end with original red kilim from 1/4 to 1/2 inch; upper end with remnants of red kilim finish generally missing and with losses to dark brown outer guard stripe. Original 3 cord red wool selvages with small losses, repairs and later overcasting. Supple handle. Rug is wider at base than at top as visible in catalogue illustration. Sound fabric and condition.
