with a poetic inscription from the Shahnameh reading, "the sun and the moon will not shine unless the Ozah's horse is successful." The Shahnameh or Book of Kings is an epic poem written by Ferdowsi in the 11th century that chronicles the mythic history of Persia.  Each of the pictorial niches here depict a scene from the Shahnameh, similar to a larger pictorial Tabriz carpet that is in the Carpet Museum of Iran, Teheran, see Gans-Ruedin, E., The Splendor of Persian Carpets, New York, 1978, pp. 193-194.
