- A Kashan silk rug
- approximately 6ft. 11in. by 4ft. 2in. (2.11 by 1.27m.)
inscribed "by the order of Ishmail and Abayhoodi"
Condition
Colors less grey and lighter in reality. Field is soft dark grey, border is very pale lavender. Pile ranges from near original closely sheered 1/10" with scattered areas of wear low to knot heads. Remnanats of upper kilim end finish with losses into outermost guard stripe. Lower end with remnanats of fringes and losses into end guard stripe. Original purple silk selvages with minor fraying. Silk powdering slightly. Sound fabric and condition.
