Catalogue Note
David Cox drew this view of Chatsworth, while on a visit to Derbyshire in August 1831. Although the tour was chiefly spent making a series of drawings of nearby Haddon Hall, Cox did execute several views of Chatsworth, the seat of the Dukes of Devonshire.
