- Portrait of a gentleman, traditionally identified as Theobald Wolfe Tone (1763-1798)
- 5.3 by 4.2 cm.; 2 by 1 3/4 in.
with powdered hair, wearing a blue coat with a white waistcoat and pleated jabot, gold frame, the reverse with central glazed hair compartment, blue enamel border set with diamonds
Condition
The colours are fresh and strong. There is some dust and mould on the interior of the glass. This has not effected the surface of the miniature. On the reverse the blue enamel border is cracked in one place. In general the work reminds in good condition and has been well preserved .
