Condition

The canvas is original. There is a very slight undulation to the canvas in the upper left corner. There are a few tiny spots of light frame rubbing to the centre of the left extreme edge. A few tiny minor specks of surface dirt and fluff. The work is otherwise in good overall condition. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals a patchy uneven varnish with some strokes of retouching to the wall behind the figure and to the figure's left arm. There are a few further flecked retouchings scattered to the foreground. Held in a decorative gold painted frame in fair condition.
