Condition

The canvas has been relined. There are approximately 5 small restored nail holes to the canvas running along the top edge. Some surface dirt but good general condition. Ultraviolet light reveals scattered retouching across the sky and to boats, and more considerable patches of retouching to the upper right quadrant and right hand horizon. Also some heightening to the signature. Held in a decorative plaster gilt frame.
