Condition
The canvas has been relined. There is a stretcher mark particularly visible along the upper and left border. A discoloured varnish throughout. Ultraviolet light reveals some retouching to the upper centre and upper left, along stretcher marks, visible to the naked eye. Scattered spots elsewhere including the suggestion of retouching to the horse, although an opaque varnish prevents a conclusive examination. Held in a decorative gold composite frame, slightly worn.
