Condition
Original canvas. There is a stretcher mark running across the centre and along the left and right borders. There are two repairs to the canvas visible on the reverse and associated retouching to the front of the painting, in the space between the two faces, visible to the naked eye and under ultraviolet light. Ultraviolet light also reveals further retouching around the head's of the figures, along the upper edge, some spots to stretcher marks and some further scattered spots. Held in a simple gold painted frame.
