Condition

Original canvas. Craquleure and some paint seperation is scattered throughout, particularly in the sky. Suface dirt and discoloured varnish is also present. There a couple of very small chips to the paint in the upper left quadrant. Ultraviolet light reveals scattered retouchings to horse, rider and background, although obscured lightly by a thick varnish. Held in a decorative plaster gilt frame with losses to the mouldings.
