Description
chacun finement décoré d'un cartouche central en incrustation de nacre et ivoire teinté de style Shibayama sur un fond roiro, réservé dans une bordure en faux bois mokume rehaussé de feuillages d'automne brun et or takamakie avec e-nashiji et kirigane figurant une variété d'oiseaux perchés, papillons et libellule en incrustations d'ivoire, nacre, shibuichi et cuivre takazogan, le premier avec un vase archaïsant fleuri d'un branche de cerisier en ivoire naturel et teinté en tons de vert pour les feuilles, un crabe et une grande feuille de lotus recueillant des fruits exotiques et bulbes de fleurs, leur fraicheur soulignée par des gouttes de nacre, le second un rouge-gorge perché sur un panier tressé fleuri de lychees, pivoines roses, lys et raisins blancs; chacun signé en script archaïque sur un cartouche en relief Shubun/Tora (?)
Condition
Birds and flowers:
Some losses to the black lacquer ground around the inlays, three vertical splits to the mokume ground border towards the upper right corner, one going across the tip end corner of one of the leaf. Otherwise good
Vase and crab:
Some losses to the black ground around the inlay, three small dents to the black ground at the lower left corner, some vertical splits to the mokume ground to the lower right of the mokume border, 7 sections of the leafy branches at the bottom restored, the longest 13 cm, otherwise from 2 to 5cm. A vertical split to the upper left. Overall good otherwise.
The lacquer and colouring effects on the inlay on each panel is very fine.
