sur fond bleu turquoise, le couvercle orné d'un médaillon central à décor de deux cerfs se désaltérant dans une rivière au pied d'un arbre en fleurs, deux grues l'une volant l'autre perchée sur l'arbre, le pourtour de la boîte et celui du couvercle à décor de vigne, l'intérieur agrémenté au centre du caractère SHOU - longévité - entouré de rinceaux et de fleurs

The present box and cover is closely related to another slightly larger box of the same decoration of grazing deer beneath a peach tree by the river, but with the side of the box and cover decorated with panels divided by pierced gilt-bronze dragons, from the Kitson collection, sold in our London rooms, 30^th May 1961, lot 421; and another box of this type, in the Civiche Raccolte d'Arte Applicata, Castello Sforzesco, Milan, illustrated in Dr. Gunhild Gabbert Avitabile, Die Ware aus dem Teufelsland, Hannover, 1981, pl. 62.
