- Diam. 14 in
de forme polylobée, reposant sur un pied court, le couvercle et la boîte sculptés sur un fond rouge, au centre du couvercle cinq dragons à cinq griffes surgissant des flots d'une mer agîtée, le côté avec huit cartouches comprenant des objets du lettré, sur un fond de lotus et rinceaux, la bordure avec une bande de grecques, la boîte reprenant le décor de la bordure et coïncidant avec cette dernière, l'intérieur et la base laqués noir - restaurations sur le couvercle et petits manques
Condition
There is a section of the cover which has broken off and has been restuck, approx 9x4cm. There are old chips to the cover, concentrated to the rim of both interior&exterior, which have been overpainted.
To the box, there are scattered old chips, concentrated to the rim. There are losses to the carvings throughout, some of which have repainted. To the foot, there are some losses, some of which reveal the layers underneath, the largest covering on area of approx 3x0.8cm.
The box & cover fit well, both in terms of carving and size..
