Condition

The rectangular wood base: the wood warped, the base is slightly domed in the center. The base shows restorations on the front left leg (glue residue and one metal leg), on the back right corner, addition of a foot under the base on the right front corner, left back hoof restored. Red pigment residue inside the ears; white pigment residue overall; black pigment residue around the nose, on the neck and on the temples (as seen in the catalogue illustration). On the tail: knot on left side missing. Some engobe losses overall showing the red colour earthenware. One small chip above left eye. Otherwise, this piece strikes by its simplicity.
