Description
with raised central boss and sloping rim, moulded and decorated in lustre, the boss painted with a solid lustre border enclosing a flower form with radial lines, the cavetto with quatrefoils interspersed with pairs of leaves on a foliate ground, the border with moulded leaves highlighted in blue, scattered flowerheads and stylised chain pattern motifs, the back with concentric lines and stylised leaves

This dish belongs to a group ascribed by Ray to Manises, 1525-60 (see Ray 2000, pp.120-121, nos. 238-243). A similar dish sold in these rooms, lot 72, 11 October 2006.
