the slender curved double-edged watered-steel blade with swollen tip and central ridge, the steel hilt with fluted grip terminating in a pommel in the form of a ewe's head with drooping ears and engraved fleece, leather-covered wood scabbard

A similar adult's steel-hilted dagger with ewe pommel was exhibited at the Treasures of Islam, Musee d'art et d'histoire, Geneva, 1985 (see Geneva, no.324, p.311) and sold through these rooms, 12 October 2004, lot 98.
