Comparable in design and decoration to nine late-eighteenth-century pandan boxes in the Victoria and Albert Museum (VAM02735.I.S.) (see Terlinden 1987, p.137, no.187), and two eighteenth-century silver filigree boxes in the Clive collection, listed in the inventory of 1775 as 'Two Philigree Dressing boxes' (see London 1982, no.337).
