Catalogue Note

For a full technical analysis of this piece, please see König, ibid, p.201.  The analysis notes that through the use of offset  and packing knots and by using knots of varying sizes, the weaver has been able to "make beautiful diagonal and curvilinear lines." The fluid drawing of the lotus flowers and leaves is effectively contrasted with the geometric severity of the stylised waves and mountains which surround the field.
