of baluster form with six sections of coral and spinach jade divided by silver and inlaid with gold arabesques and diamond bands

This type of holder was traditionally presented by the sultan when a lady of the harem delivered a male child. The decorative forms are characteristic of the sixteenth/seventeenth century.
