inscriptions
On the finial, the shahada:
'There is no god, but The God. Mahummad is the Messenger of God'
On the pommel, twice:
'I have five who will extinguish the fever of plague: The Prophet, 'Ali and his two sons and Fatimah'
On the middle, one side:
Qur'an surah al-Baqara (II), 255 (ayat al-kursi)
The other side:
Qur'an surah al-Baqara (II), 255 (ayat al-kursi), followed by:
'Mian Muhiy al-Din. O The Holy!'
Miran Muhiy al-Din is not identified. Absence of the words 'work of', its owner' make it impossible to say whether he is a maker, owner or a sufi to whom the invocation is addressed.
On the lower part, twice:
'Call upon 'Ali who causes wonders
You will find him helpful in misfortunes
All anguish, all sorrow will disappear
Through your Prophethood O Muhammad! through your friendship (with God)
O'Ali! O'Ali! O'Ali!
