Condition
Very minor cracks to the veneer consistent with the nature of the wood and age. Minor restorations to the veneer, restorations to the legs, minor restorations to the seat rail. Very minor marks and dents to the sculpted decoration.

An armchair of identical design is reproduced in 100 and twelve chairs from the collection of the State History Museum, Moscow 2000, p. 60, fig. 48. A similar series of seat furniture preserved in the Cameron Gallery of Tsarskoe Selo is illustrated on the cover of Costumes and objects in Russia from the 18th to the 20th centuries, Leningrad, 1983.
