The Danhauser furniture manufactory published a wide array of designs for side chairs, many of which incorporated variations based upon a stylized mushroom-shaped top rail. These designs in the Õsterreichisches Museum für angewandte Kunst in Vienna are illustrated, A. Wilkie, Biedermeier, New York, 1987, fig. 137.

The feet have been blocked. Minor wear and rubbing with some minor chips to gilding. Restorations to veneer.
