  • A Roman Marble Relief Fragment, Eastern Mediterranean
  • Height 27 1/2 in. 69.8 cm.
from a large column sarcophagus, carved in high relief with a youthful figure standing with the weight on the right leg and left hand holding the folds of the garment, and wearing a short tunic bound with a belt, and himation fastened with a brooch on the right shoulder.

as shown, note chips, abrasions, surface wear, and remains of incrustation, back is carved flat and polished/worn
