According to Kaycee Benton, "the painting titled Among the Wild Azaleas depicts a scene in Cragsmoor, New York where Curran had his summer home and studio and was painted either in late May or early June of 1908, when the wild azaleas are in bloom. Curran's record book number for this painting is 158-5."
