Catalogue Note

A founding member of the Society of Classical Realism Guild of Artists, Gjertson was born in Minnesota, where he still resides.  He attended the University of Minnesota, but left to pursue more traditional art training, eventually studying with Richard Lack at the latter's atelier in Minneapolis.  The artist has received many important awards and his work has been exhibited in several west coast museums.
