SURFACE: in fairly good condition--work is painted on coarse canvas--weave shows through in many areas, paticularly lights at right UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: a repaired tear at lower right corner (diagonal, about 2 1/2 in. long); inpainting along upper edge, right (starts at corner, extends left about 15 in.); a few scattered spots in sky at upper right
