in characteristic ready pose, head turned left and drinking from the shallow bowl, wearing finely incised chest band and large crescentic shell pendant, the head wrapped with inscised bands.

These figures represent rulers or high status individuals; postures such as this probably depict a ruler sponsored feasting ceremony. See Townsend, ed. (1998: 201, fig. 16).
