- Paire de statuettes féminines, Yoruba (Yagba)
- 25 et 26 cm
- 9 3/4 in; 10 1/4 in
ibeji, portées par des jambes fermes et droites reposant sur une base circulaire, les mains encadrant l'abdomen. Les visages aux traits anguleux sont dominés par un front proéminent, prolongé par une haute coiffe faite de cinq tresses dressées à la verticale, rehaussées de pigments indigo. Elles sont parées, au cou et sur les hanches, de plusieurs colliers de perles de verre. Patine brune avec empâtement d'ocre rouge dans les creux.

Good condition overall. Wear consistent with age and use within the culture. Some losses to compacted earth. Taller figure: minor losses to proper left ear. Shorter figure: base slightly rubbed at reverse.
