Le pommeau en ivoire est finement sculpté d'un protome d'antilope au cou recourbé formant la poignée, auquel répond une petite figure d'éléphant en ronde bosse. La hampe en bois, décorée au sommet et à la pointe d'incrustations en ivoire, est ouvragée en deux brins torsadés, l'un se terminant par une tête d'antilope, l'autre par une tête d'hippopotame. Très grande finesse de la sculpture et des modelés. Belle patine d'usage, brune, sur le fût ; jaune orangé, nuancé, de l'ivoire.

Extrémité de l'une des pattes postérieures de l'éléphant manquante, quelques éclats dans le décor d'incrustation d'ivoire de la pointe.
The extremity of one of the forefoot of the elephant is missing, few splits in the ivory incrustation decoration.
