Catalogue Note
This painting is sold with an accompanying Papunya Tula Artists certificate attached to the reverse that reads: "Nuluntja alternatively known as Lunjuna, is a soakage water site to the west of Alice Springs, well over into the sand-hill and spinifex country of Western Australia. Because the mythology belongs to the secret/sacred men's world no further details are possible. It can only be revealed that "wati djuta" (literally "man many") gathered here for ceremonies. The yellow background dots indicate that the soakage is situated near a large claypan, the dots indicating the water smoothed base of the "lake".'
