This vitrine table has the hallmarks of the work of François Linke. Excluding the hinged and glazed top, the form, mounts, and especially the legs of this table pay tribute to the style of the Royal cabinetmaker Jean-Henri Riesener.  A similar table with Riesener's stamp was acquired by the South Kensington Museum in 1882, later named The Victoria & Albert Museum.
