amarante, bois de violette and sycomore trellis-parquetry with ébène and buis stringings, one frieze drawer opening to a hinged compartment lined with a gilt-tooled green leather writing surface and a mirror to its reverse, the drawer fitted with an inkwell and sand pot, the carcass stamped twice F.DURAND.FILS to the underside.
