Catalogue Note
Compare with the example depicting the same scene illustrated by Gustav E.Pazaurek, op.cit., 1923, pl.171 who lists signed examples in collections of which the present lot may be one; see also Rudolf von Strasser, Einschreibebüchlein, p.48.
The image is after a popular coloured engraving by Carl Schütz (1745-1800), dated 1783, with St.Michael's church on the left of the Spanish riding school and the old Burgtheater.
