the faceted conical bowl engraved with a continuous scene inscribed Breßlaw, set on a faceted baluster stem flanked by collars and a wide conical foot engraved with a foliate band within concentric lines

Catalogue Note
The spelling 'Breßlaw' appears in Matthaeus Merian's steel-engraved German panoramic views, 1650.
The engraving is similar to that found on the so-called Master of the Koula beakers (see Olga Drahotova, 'Der Kreis um den Meister des sog. Koula-Bechers', Glasrevue, XX, 1965, pp.340ff, pl.7).
