Description

  • A fine Arts and Crafts four fold needlework screen
  • each panel 217cm. high by 80cm. wide
silk thread on a silk damask ground, each panel elaboartely worked with birds amongst fruiting foliage, in glazed mahogany panels, with blind fret cresting and apron and panelled reverse

Provenance

The needlework in this piece is believed to have belonged to Lady Ella R. Durand (1852-1913), who is the author of the travel journal Autumn Tour in Western Persia, London, 1902.
