Catalogue Note
Dieckmann (1896-1944) graduated from the Staatliches Bauhaus, Weimar in 1924. He remained in Weimar as master of the joinery workshop at the Bauhochschule until 1930 and then taught furniture design at the influential art school Burg Giebichenstein in Halle. He is widely regarded as the most important Bauhaus furniture designer after Marcel Breuer.
