Catalogue Note

LaMont Warner was a major designer for Gustav Stickley's firm from 1900-1906.  After leaving the Stickley Workshops, Warner embarked on a lengthy career of teaching and painting.  This work dates to the period when Warner was semi-retired and focusing his artistic efforts primarily on painting.  This present lot was found in a home in Hobart, NY which is one town away from Stamford where Warner resided.
