Catalogue Note
Edward Rogers began painting in 1937. His artistic output consisted of portraits and landscapes until 1948, when he radically changed his style. After this date Rogers embraced abstraction, creating geometric constructions and cut-metal sculptures. In the 1960s he exhibited widely, with solo exhibitions at the Drian Galleries, the Vincintoria Art Gallery in Brighton, and latterly at Belgrave Gallery and Abbott and Holder in London.
