Catalogue Note

'Tom, who is wearing the blue suit, was the landlord of the Lockyer at that time, and he used to keep the back bar in some sort of order with great good humour.  He didn't often smile, but when Brian picked him up and started whirling him round the room he couldn't resist the fun and a small grin appeared.  We are fortunate to live in the very centre of Plymouth, surrounded by lots of lovely pubs, each with different characteristics.  This bar had its own special atmosphere and was used as a meeting place for about thirty years, I believe, before closing down last year.  I'm glad I was lucky enough to see it in its hey-day.'
