Description
- Sir Max Beerbohm
- Max Beerbohm sketch book
pencil, ink and watercolour
- 28 by 21.5cm.; 11 by 8½in.
Condition
The hard-back cover has protected the sheets of the Aubrey Beardsley book. There is a black ink mark to the upper right corner of the page which the caricature and dedication appear but this may have been the mark of the artist. The sheet is very slightly stained but the caricature generally appears remarkably fresh and well preserved. The Max Beerbohm sketch book has a weak, broken spine and some of the pages are slightly torn around the edges. One sheet is singed on the upper right corner and the hard-back cover is scuffed and has spots of staining. Page 16 of the Sigmund Munz book has come loose and the edges of many of the pages are slightly worn. The hard-back cover is scuffed and the spine has two creases along it.
