Condition
There are various minute flecks of white paint across the surface. A small section of paint has been chipped away in the centre of the canvas and a small vertical crack has appeared in the paint below it. Similair small cracks have appeared in the lower left and right side of the work. Some paint scuffing can be seen around the dog towards the left corner of the composition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals large sections of retouching to the lower section in the forground, and scattered spots of retouching throughout much of the work. Held in a gilt, black wooden and plaster frame.
