Thomas Bodkin and A.C. Sewter, Glyn Philpot: 1884-1937, B.T. Batsford Ltd, London, 1951, pl.99.
Condition
The canvas has been laid down onto board which has warped slightly.
Three small spots of paint loss are visible along the lower edge of the board which has been hidden by the slip. The warping of the board has now rendered these spots visible.
Examination under ultra-violet light reveals some areas of very faint fluorescence but these appear to be the marks of the artist as opposed to retouching.
Held under glass and within a cream canvas slip in a simple, rectilinear frame.
