Condition

The work is on wove paper which has not been laid down. The sheet is adhered to the mount by two pieces of adhesive tape which attach to the two top corners on the reverse of the sheet. There are scattered areas of foxing on the reverse of the sheet and the edges are slightly dirty. The top edge is uneven where the sheet appears to have been removed from a sketch book. There is a small abrasion in the area of wash in the upper right quadrant. There is an inscription on the reverse which reads '...997 D'. Held behind glass in a wooden frame with a canvas slip.
