Condition

The work is on wove paper which has not been laid down. The sheet is adhered to the mount by small pieces of tape along the edges. There are artist's pinholes along all four edges of the sheet. The reverse of the sheet is stained. There is a horizontal crease running along the upper edge of the sheet. The paint surface is in good overall condition. There is no sign of retouching under ultra-violet light. Held beneath glass in a simple gilded frame.

Cope Place is located behind Earls Court Road in Kensington. Ginner has depicted the street in the evening, the bright street light illuminating the goings-on of London at night.
