Condition
Dirt has gathered in some of the crevices. There are a number of scratches on the underside of the base but otherwise the work is in good overall condition.

Conceived in 1965, the present work is unique. It belongs to a small group of unique Bird sculptures from this date of which three similar versions are illustration in Mullins, op.cit. plate 75.
